Review: Grayson's Vow

Grayson's Vow Grayson's Vow by Mia Sheridan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Mia Sheridan never fails to make me love her books.
All I can say is wow. Just wow! I love everything about this book.
description

This book kinda reminds me of Beauty and the Beast. But anyway, so I'll try to react by using Carrie Underwood's song Look At Me, since this song kept playing on my mind while I was reading this. Here goes:

"I would bet my life, like I bet my heart
That you were the one, baby
I've never been so sure of anything before
You driving my heart crazy

Ever since the beginning, their attraction for each other was already there. From the way they react to each other, how they interact and how they simple experience being in the same roof together. Grayson felt it, Kira felt it too. It made them question their feelings and think things that they were never sure before. The simple stare and simple touches made their heart go crazy. I mean who wouldn't? I can just imagine how hot Grayson is. LOL. anyway....

"I can't hold out, I can't hold back now
Like I've done before."

Both of them fell in love with another person before and got hurt. They didn't actually felt that they were deeply in love with their partners. At that time, they said they did. But experiencing what they have now, they simply can't hold back anymore because this time it's completely different from before.

"Darling, look at me
I've fallen like a fool for you
Darling, can't you see
I'd do anything you want me to

This is true. They did fall like a fool for each other. I can't say anything right now. lol. Maybe that vineyard was magical.

"I tell myself I'm in too deep
Then I fall a little farther
Every time you look at me"

Even though there were a lot of painful stuff that happened here, (I mean really painful because I, myself shed some tears. Ha!) they were still able to get past them. Sometimes, natural things make you fall a little more to the person that you like. Simple actions and gestures make you feel more because it's not about the effort but the natural way of things. (i don't know if i'm making any sense. lol)

"How do you do that, babe?
Make me feel like I'm the only girl alive for you
I don't know what it is that makes me fall like this
First time in your arms, I knew"

Both of them are stubborn. There is no denying this. They irritate and annoy each other to the point that they even gave each other names of insult like Dragon and Little Witch. I knooooow. It's sweet right? ha! Because of these, they only ignite that passion that they feel for each other. This made them feel alive and experience that wonderful feeling when falling in love with "the one".

"The way you held me, I knew that this could be
What I've been waiting to find."

Ever since they were young, they always felt the need to be loved and be accepted by their parents. They felt like they were not good enough or they don't have value in this world. Which is sad. Imagine growing up feeling like that. Lots of years thinking that you are alone and will stay alone because you are not wanted. Finding that someone who can make you feel the things that you were looking for is one of the most amazing feeling because you will feel all kinds of joy and you will feel like that kid again who wants simple stuff in life. It happened here. Grayson and Kira. goooooosssssh! I'm all kinds of happy right now!

All I can say is that I really enjoyed this book. Drama is ok, the romance is great and the characters are the best!

Review: Beautiful Boss

Beautiful Boss Beautiful Boss by Christina Lauren
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lotssss of melting for Will Sumner over hereee. I mean....yeah. Lots!
description

All I can is that I really like Will and Hanna's relationship. How they go about their marriage, career choices and forever-plans. It's so sweet and adorable to have someone who understands you and willing to do anything for you just so you could be happy about it. Not only that, but it feels so good to have your partner feel the same way about it. Yes, they argue but not because they don't want to consider each other's point of views but because they deeply care for each other and they are trying to value each significant points that they think could help them.

Over-all, lots of hearts for this couple! woooot!

Review: Glass Sword

Glass Sword Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

My reaction the whole time I'm reading this book was this.
description

Ok, fine. Not all the time. haha!

Thoughts:

1. Points for the X-men thingy this book has got going on. I'm loving the uniqueness of each individual. Gotta love those powers/mutant thingy.

2. Anyone can betray anyone. Yeah. I heard you the first time already! Or more like, I read it from book 1, so it should've been no surprise now in this book. But then again, I still get affected. haha!

3. Romance-showmance. No more love here. :( I mean, there was but it's just too painful to read. I understand that they have their differences but I just don't see how this will work out. Maybe they really are not meant to be. Different species are not suppose to be together. Just like animals animals mals.

4. Shade. At first I was likeeee this guy. I like hiiiim. So. MUCH! And all of a sudden, poof. Like Koko Krunch. :| My reaction?
This:
description

5. The ending. I saw it coming. There's always a formula for this type of stories. The sacrifice. I get it. I'm not judging. It always ends to that or results to that at some point. I just feel like this one lacks something? 'Cause after everything it all goes down like that. errrr.

Have to wait until next year? errrrr that's a loooooooong wait my friends!

Review: Beautiful Burn

Beautiful Burn Beautiful Burn by Jamie McGuire
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

So don't judge me, but when it comes to the Maddox brothers I am a just big-fat-swooning-gal. LOL
Makes me wanna go like:
description

This book is not exactly my favorite but reading the stories of these boys really keeps me interested all the damn time.

Ellie is ok. She has a lot of screw ups but she wants to try to be better. I don't like her all the time but I like that she is not perfect. Makes her seem more real to me. Tyler is just like his brothers. When he fell for Ellie he was all the way in. He's so stubborn and doesn't easily give up. No wonder Ellie is getting frustrated with him. But over-all, I like Tyler. He is sooooo sweeeet! Swoon-worthy!

The drama. I always love drama. I am sucker for drama. Especially all that love story formula where the person is staying away from the person that he/she loves just to protect him/her or because he/she doesn't deserve him/her. I know it's expected or cliche or what but I don't care. haha!

Review: Red Queen

Red Queen Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was ok. I don't love it and I don't hate it. But boy oh boy. If I was ever given a chance to talk to the characters, it will be like this:

To Mare Barrow:
description
I just can't. Your life was already horrible. Then you stumble into a far worse experience that could ever happen to you. If I were you, I might've just chosen the life in that war that you were dreading. Well, that's just me.

To Prince Cal:
description
Please keep this in mind. Many betrayed you Prince. All of you were betrayed actually but compared to all of them I think you are the most innocent.

To Prince Maven:
description
GRRRRR! Maven. I mean. Hello Maven. errr.

also, this:

This pretty much sums up my reaction for this book.

Review: Queen of Shadows

Queen of Shadows Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Oh. Oh. Let's embrace the point of no return.
description

I just have one question. WHY? to everything!!! Why?! Ok. Not really everything. Don't get me wrong. I love the book. I swear I do. I just couldn't accept everything that happened. Now i have to wait monthssss to get my hands on the next book. Can you blame me if I wasn't satisfied?

1. The ship has sailed. Or drowned. Ha ha ha. Not.
No moreeee. No more C.C. Now i am devastated. And now i keep hearing that Lorde song, that i should embrace the point of no return. No more. :((( but whyyyyy?? There are parts in the book that are shredding every bit of hope that I have and yet i keep on ignoring them. Until the very end. It was like a slap or a blast of cold wind. Then nothing.

2. Aedion and the ghost leopard.
I can focus on these two. Let me please. Please? Ok. Haha! I loooooove everything about Aedion.

3. The fae-prince and her.
It wasn't a shock but still. I have no words but, acceptance. :(

4. The crown prince of Adarlan.
I only have 50% hope that you'll survive your fate. The other 50% won. Hahah!

5. Manon.
You never disappoint me!

And because i'm sleepy and i can't really think right now, full reaction on this book to follow.

Review: Heir of Fire

Heir of Fire Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Heir of Fire. Heir of Fire. HEIR OF FIRE. FIRE. haha!
description
What I felt after reading this book. :))

Thoughts:

1. Again, why must you separate.
description
I understand that they need the separation thing but that can lead them to another path. It did by the way and right now I am so eager to know what will happen next!

2. "You left me." - Celaena.
Ohhhh Celaenaaaaa, you're breaking my heart!
Again, I know nothing could be done with the death of her parents and her kingdom, but knowing the happy days of her life with them makes me want to wish that they didn't die. :( Then followed by Sam's death and Nehemia.... :( Then there's her feelings for Chaol. *sighs*
Celaena you cannot escape the pain that love gives.
description

3. Captain of the guard. Traitor. No more title.
description
Chaol Westfall, no matter what happens I will support you all the way!

4. The prince is in love but the happy days are numbered.
Boy oh boy! Dorian you didn't. But you did! I'm happy for you. Really I am. But the aftermath, not so much. :( It's like Anakin Skywalker of Star Wars. hahaha! But in this one you were not given a choice. I was sooooo shocked. At first, I was like noooo that cannot happen. I mean. WHAT?
description
What about the happy ending part. Then I realized, oh no. If he has no happy ending that means......yes. (silent scream here) That actually happened. Dorian :(

5. That firelight within.
Nothing can be said about what happened in the fight in Wendlyn. Celaena was so brave she didn't care at all what will happen to her. But then something awesome did. AMAZING!!!! But yeah, those flashbacks tho. some were nice especially the ones with her parents, uncle and cousin. Even with the little quiet prince. awww. Then the slaughter happened. :(

6. Hello! Cousin! Aunt and New Friends!
So the cousin. I like him. haha! I love his dedication and loyalty to Aelin. Even when they were little. One of the things that is amazing about him is that he was able to endure all the wicked things and wasn't seduced by the power. Come to think of it, he can easily succumb to evil given that his people are gone but he didn't. Nice choice cousin. Nice.
Oh the wicked Aunt of the Doranelle. haha! I don't like her. no. not gonna say anymore.
Then there's a new prince. Hello, Rowan. Very broody this guy. Serious and silent yet a deadly weapon like Celaena. All those times that they spent together. woooot! BFF award goes to Rowan. HAHA! Mistward friends are fun too! I was really hoping to be a part of that story time session that they have. Seems nice to just sit there and listen to all the stories being shared.

Next booook, please!!

Review: Crown of Midnight

Crown of Midnight Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If i thought Throne of Glass was amazing, this book, this one right here is soooo much better!!!!!! I cannot even explain how I couldn't stop reading this book. My eyes are hurting right now because of lack of sleep and exhaustion and yet i kept on reading. Ha ha. My poor eyes.

My suspicions are correct. I knew it! But what I really love about this book is the building relationships with the characters. Some ended but the new ones are worth reading! Oh boy! I couldn't stop myself from squeeing like a silly girl every time I see Chaol's name. Don't get me started on how I extremely appreciate Celaena's character. The best ever!!! Then there was Dorian. I didn't expect that. I was dumbstruck. Lol

Next book here I cooome! :)

-----------

My reaction?
description

1. I knew it! You are not a cruel person. So don't welcome the pain. No.
The King's Champion, that you are. As an assassin you have to be as deadly and as lethal and cunning and (insert every word that can describe an assassin here). Celaena is those words. But she is not that cruel. You know when you just chose to live and believe that someday you will be free of all these and you can go anywhere you like AND be as far away to those things that you wouldn't want to be a part of. yep. I don't believe it's cowardice. In others' eyes she may seem like a coward, but when you experience all that horrible events that she experienced and feel them each day while you breathe, I think, it's brave. Or just surviving. She may easily end her life but she didn't. Ignoring them may not help anyone but herself but if you put yourself in her position, i wouldn't want to trigger something that may or may not allow me to bring back all those pain. Wouldn't welcome them. at. all. So yes. Celaena. I support youuuu! whatever you do.

2. Assassin + Captain = Everything
I don't really want to share anything. Just that these two are really (hafokhasflkjspaoriwuqorujlka) hahahaha! yep. can't explain it. Tingles the spine. Butterflies in the stomach. Mind pure of sweet bliss. Just know that when I read Chaol's birthday I was like:
description
Everything after was..... hearts everywhere! Happinessss indeed!

3. When there is happiness, there is sorrow ahead.
I was expecting the heartbreak. But i didn't expect that much. I was shocked of what happened. that and many other things that happened actually.

4. ooooh Magic.
Another thing that I didn't see coming. OK. what is his role. Why him? I never thought about it, never crossed my mind. But it was interesting!

5. My FAEvorite.
Aelin Galathynius. This person. And how she was described in this book. How she was identified by a certain person that I have a crush on. yeah. hahaha

6. One last, Hellooooo, Chaol! :)
description
My thoughts are all over the place. haha! Must read book 3 now.

Review: Throne of Glass

Throne of Glass Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I cannot put this book down! Omg!!!! 5stars! 5hearts! Perfect!!!

---

Woot! a week has passed since I've read this book and I am still ga-ga over it. haha!
Well, you certainly can't blame me if you were the one who read it. I can assure you. You will make yourself believe in the good things inside others regardless of their reputation. Ok. So, back up. I'm getting ahead of myself. First things first.

description
This was my reaction when I realized that I was falling in love with this book. LOL. It's been a while since I've read something like this. I think the last one was a Susan Dennard book. or Leigh Bardugo.

So anyway, what a way to tell a story! Thoughts.... here goes.

1. What a creature you are!
Celaena Sardothien. I cannot even....ok. Hands down! This girl right here. This girl is like WOW. I loooove her! Everything about her is A-W-E-S-O-M-E! I mean everything! Her story was one of the heart-wrenching/sob story ever! I can't even believe how she survived that. Being a prison after what she have been through. Who was I to question her decision/s? I actually like her decisions in life. Knowing you have minimal options that is. Maybe if I was her, I'd just kill myself. That way I don't have to do anything. ha-ha. What a coward am I, right?

2. Oh, Captain. My Captain.
I wasn't really expecting anything from Captain Chaol Westfall. Though I have to admit, I was beginning to find it hard to read his name, so 50% done with the book, I went to Ms Maas website and searched for the right pronunciation. LOL. So, it was "Kay-all". yay. Anyway, like I said even though I was trying to lecture my mind that maybe this dude is just a friend, my mind keep saying, "Girl, I don't think so. Are you blind?" So, then reading the whole book, my mind was right after all. He is not JUST a friend. I actually have a HUGE crush on him. HA! Seriously, this dude likes to brood and be serious all the time but when he loosens up, especially with Celaena, wooot! Ok. keep your mind out of the gutter. It was sweet. Their friendship, even though it hurts sometimes because Chaol isn't really 100% open yet, he is still lovable! hearts all the way for you, my captain. hahaha!

3. Your Highness.
Hello, Dorian! You charming lad you. What I can say about his highness is that I like his easy going self. All his questions and his feelings for a certain someone. It's fun to read his thought and his self doubt. Imagine someone who is so confident then became unsure of a certain part of his life. A part that he extremely wants. oh well. life is full of wonders for your my prince.

4. The competition begins. The dark kingdom breathes.
It's like watching a game show on TV. a brutal one at that. The suspense, the magic and the horror. All are exciting and interesting to read. I never got bored. The evil things in this book... oh boy.

I don't know what to say anymore because anymore words and I might spoil anyone who reads this. yep. no more. shut up. 5STARS!!!

Book Review: Lead me Not

Lead Me Not (Twisted Love, #1)Lead Me Not by A. Meredith Walters
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Sooo meet Maxx.
description

He's so frustrating! ugh! Well, at least he's not someone who pretends that he wants to stop just because he met someone or the love of his life. If you're addicted, YOU. ARE. JUST. ADDICTED. period. He is the perfect example of that.

Then there's Aubrey.
description

She's brave. Let's give it to her. She really does love the guy. But I was really proud of her when she made the choice to leave him. *hands down* All the hurt that she experienced being with Maxx was really heart breaking, it made me want to stop reading. *not* hahah!

For this book, Stay High by Tove Lo keeps playing on my mind. lol:

  Staying in my play pretend
Where the fun, it got no end
Ooh
Can't go home alone again
Need someone to numb the pain

You're gone and I gotta stay
High all the time
To -high to-
High all the time
To -high to-
High all the time
To keep you off my mind

High all the time
To -high to-
High all the time
To -high to-
High all the time
To keep you off my mind

Review: Shooting Scars

Shooting Scars (The Artists Trilogy, #2)Shooting Scars by Karina Halle
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is Ellie in this book,
description

oh my gosh. This story keeps getting better and better. After reading On Every Street, I was really wanting or more likely BEGGING for Ellie and Javier to get back together. I just thought that it would be so romantic if even with all the lies, deceits and awful situations that they were in, it will always come down on them being in love with each other. I was so set with that idea, but along the way of reading Shooting Scars, i am not so sure anymore. Well, I was sure for like two times when Ellie and Javier had sex like MANY times and they were also able to confess every thing that happened to them 6 years ago. They were able to rip the band aid out of each other's wound. They were able to bring back the past emotions! oh my god! was I wrong to be that romantic in me and tell myself that this will be a happy ending? BECAUSE! well, unfortunately, there's still Camden McQueen. Besides, Javier is still Javier.

This book was able to break my delusional concept of having a happily ever after for Ellie and Javier. Just like all the characters in this book, one thing is real.
description
Javier is a changed man. Yes, he was different now but I do know one thing. He cannot hide it in this book. I can SEE it! Ms Karina Halle is actually letting us see it. Javier is still deeply and insanely in love with Ellie. He cannot deny that. But then again, he's still full of revenge. He still wants to hurt people. He still wants to kill and the difference now is that he's willing to use Ellie.

As for Ellie, I can't say she feel the same way. Being "in love" i mean. One, it's because she's now in love with someone else. Camden McQueen. She became hopeful to that idea that she can have a future with him. Two, i know she still has those feelings for Javier, but it's not the same just like before. Yes she's weak and she was able to succumb to Javier's seduction but she's more afraid of him now than before. I can honestly understand Ellie's weakness. Yes she was weak. She let Javier do those things to her, not to hurt Camden but because she thought that she has no one but herself. she's all alone.
description
she thinks that she will never see the man that she's in love with. She was lost and she was scared. She was ALONE. It was a miracle that she didn't lose her mind.

As for Camden, well helloooo Mr. Clark Kent. I think in all this, Camden is saying
description
I know the rage and pent up fury inside him. He's a very scary person to come across with. I admire his devotion. If one can describe him, i can totally say that he's the very example of a person who give ALL of his love to a person. He'll do anything for Ellie. Yes, he was hurt but love was able to empower all the pain that Ellie caused him. That's how deeply and greatly he loves Ellie. Obsess? maybe. But it's wonderful. I like it.

ok, i don't know what will happen but seeing the 3 of them together is weird and kinda exciting. I love it. book 3 come on!!!

Review: Sins and Needles

Sins & Needles (The Artists Trilogy, #1)Sins & Needles by Karina Halle
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

description

"It's a beautiful lie
It's a perfect denial
Such a beautiful lie to believe in
So beautiful, beautiful it makes me"

Awwww it's all about not messing around with very bad people. For someone like Ellie, she was born in it.

"Lie awake in bed at night
And think about your life
Do you want to be different?
Try to let go of the truth
The battles of your youth
'Cause this is just a game"

She can never erase her past. Especially if something always keeps on reminding her of it. That scar was the very thing that defined her life. She didn't chose it. It just happened to her. Her life sucks then. It still sucks now. Though she did try to leave it all behind, but being a con artist that she was raised from, it doesn't go all the way so easily.

For Camden, his youth was a nightmare as well. Starting from his father, and how everyone treated him so unfairly, even how Ellie broke his heart. Once something struck you so hard and deep it can never go away. Especially if it's your heart. Being broken and destroyed, you'll always carry that pain with you.

"It's time to forget about the past
To wash away what happened last
Hide behind an empty face
Don't ask too much, just say
'Cause this is just a game"

This song, A Beautiful Lie by 30 Seconds to Mars really fits this story. And i am loving every lyrics of it.

One thing i know is that love for a person can never really go away just like that. Just like pain will always stain your soul and heart. Love can turn into hate or obsession. It can be lethal and deadly. But, it can also make you feel the peace that you've been craving for. To some, they have the chance to have that peace. But for others? The ones that are not lucky enough? They have to live a lie and sacrifice their happiness to achieve the happiness of others.

Cannot wait to read the second book!

Review: On Every Street

On Every Street On Every Street by Karina Halle
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Do you live? Do you die? Do you live for a fantasy? (Fantasy by 30 Seconds to Mars)

“I tricked myself into thinking it had all been a dream, that none of it had really happened. I pretended that I was falling in love with Javier and that was all to the story. I didn’t let myself dwell on who he really was.”

All it was in Ellie Watt's life with Javier Bernal is a fantasy, it's all a lie. Eden White is a lie. But a better word to describe Ellie's life as Eden? It's a fantasy. Fantasy is a word that can be describe as an illusion going through a person's mind and believing it to be real. Wanting something to be real. In reality? It can but it won't be forever.

It started with revenge, but like Gus said, a people can change his or her mind. There are so many factors that can be involved in this. It could be about the situation, the people around you or the feelings that seep through your skin and mess with your mind or your goal. For Ellie, it all comes down to her emotions.

Believe it or not, a person only has one thing in mind. This is to be loved. We are created to love others and be loved by others, most importantly, we have that mentality wherein we think that we can be truly love by one person who made us feel the love that we wanted in return. It's the raw type of love that will be the death of us. I think, this mentality is what's in Ellie's and Javier's mind.

description

LIE

“That’s the kind of person you think you’re in love with, Ellie. I want you to wake up and see the lie. Obsession is not love. He is a bad man.”

-- to be honest, it is scary to live in a lie. It's ok if you have control and can manage to handle the pressure, but what happens if it becomes your weakness or something that will trigger your weak side? The pain or the fear that will come afterwards will be something that you will wish that you never have to experience.

LOVE

“I’m scared of him. I’m disgusted by the vile monster he becomes, this beast he lets out. But I still love him. I’d still do anything for him. I can’t just turn off my heart. I want to, I do, but I can’t. I love him with everything I have and I hate myself for it. Because it’s wrong to love him, I know. It’s so wrong.”

-- for Ellie, i pity her. She never expected to love Javier that way she did. She never saw it coming. But she still fell in love with him. That's something that changed all her plans. Her love was able to change her too. She accepted and trusted the man that's why she was able to let go of her revenge and see Javier as her forever. She was able to see the good in him and was able to justify his actions. Yes, he is bad, but she was able to look deeper and she found something essential and wonderful.

-- for Javier, i know he love Ellie or Eden for him. I just know it! I can see it too! From the way Ellie described him in the book. For some reason i think he's obsessed but he loved her deeply. What i don't get is why did he cheated on her????? Why why why? I mean, i know he's a ladies man but that all changed when he met Ellie. So, i wanna know WHY? I mean was starting to like Javier!! I was starting to believe that a bad guy has this soft and sweet side that can truly change him to something good!
GUESS I WAS WRONG? Or not? Can he explain this in book2? Please?

LIVE

“I went to the bathroom to clean up and was surprised to see the weary eyes of Ellie Watt looking back at me. Judging me. I had been so close to becoming her again. So close to freeing her. She was disappointed, her body marred by bloody smears, bite marks and bruises, physical signs of our troubled love.
I gave her the finger. Then I got ready to go back home.”

--Life can be confusing. Especially if you got hurt then you found out that you still feel the love that you have inside. Feelings make living your life confusing. All you have to do is choose what you think is right. Not what is right in the situation, but what is right for YOU.

I am loving this story!!!!!

Book 2 now please!

Book Review: Lost and Found

Lost & Found (Lost & Found, #1)Lost & Found by Nicole  Williams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

One thought came to me while reading this: Damn! Where can I find someone like Jesse Walker?

Someone like that is really really hard to find. You're lucky to even find a glimpse of him in this world.

Ok so, thought?

1. This book made my mouth water.
- every conversation with Jesse was mouth-watering or jaw dropping kind. He's someone you'll have a serious crush on. Like what Rowen keeps saying, he's someone who's hard to get over. I like how their relationship went from flirting to push and pull then to a serious loving kind of relationship.

2. Sometimes it's ok to want something you think you don't deserve.
- who has the right to dictate to you what you should or shouldn't have? It always comes down to you. You have the decision to choose. It's not about what shouldn't happen because you think you're not good enough, it's about making the right decision. It's hard to explain. Lol. For me, you have to choose what's right all the time. Not because you listen to other people or relate it to bad things, you do it because you know it will be good. Or better.

3. Stop punishing yourself.
- don't punish yourself for thinking about all the bad things and choosing all the negative things. Reward yourself! You deserve every reward that you can get. Grab those opportunities and options.
